Q1. What purchase options do you offer?

Each image can be purchased as one of the following options:
1. A digital download of the original high resolution image file (see Question 5).
2. A loose canvas print (unstretched and shipped to you rolled in a tube - see Question 3).
3. A premium gallery wrapped canvas (already stretched and ready to hang - see Question 4)
4. A fine art paper print (unmounted and unframed - rolled and shipped in a tube - see Question 9).
We can also mount or frame your print upon request.

Q2. What canvas sizes can you print?

We focus on the larger sizes which really bring the canvas to life. We can print any size canvas from 24x16" up to 72x48" (and custom sizes upon request). Our recommended sizes roughly match the aspect ratio of each image, but are intended as a guideline and estimate only. There could be minor differences due to rounding and conversion of measurements. See question 7 for some helpful tips about recommended size.

Q3. What is an unstretched canvas print?

An unstretched canvas print is a loose canvas, unmounted. The buyer will receive the print rolled up in a tube. The print will include a 2 inch border all around, so you can have it professionally stretched by the framer of your choice. The border can be white, black or mirror (a mirror of the image, so that the edges will match the image without cropping the front view).

Q4. What is a premium gallery wrap?

A gallery wrap or stretched canvas is a print on premium quality canvas, stretched over a frame of standard 1.5" spreader bars. The canvas is professionally stretched over the frame for a tight fit, giving it a modern, finished look. We offer a choice of edges or borders (mirrored, white or black). A mirrored edge is the most popular, as it gives the appearance of the image wrapping around the edge of the frame without cropping the front view. The premium gallery wrap does not need to be framed, it will have a beautiful finished look and will arrive ready to hang. However, if you would like to have your canvas framed, we offer a selection of contemporary float frames and will be happy to send you a custom quote on request for a float frame of your choice.

The premium gallery wrap is lightweight and very easy to hang on your wall. It comes with a lifetime guarantee.

Q5. What is the size of the High Res Download option?

The original high resolution image file is a jpg file uploaded by the photographer, print-ready but without borders and with no signature or watermark. In most cases, the longest side is at least 10,000 pixels which is a very high resolution and suitable for creating large format prints of the image. The file is saved in the Adobe RGB color profile, so please check with your printer if they can handle Adobe RGB files. Converting it to sRGB is fine for online use, but not recommended for printing. The file size differs depending on the image, ranging from around 10MB for certain monochrome images up to 50MB or more for the largest full color images. The high res image is sold either under a personal use license or commercial use license. You will receive a download link via email within 24 hours after completing your purchase.

Q6. Is shipping included in the price?

Yes, free shipping is included on most physical products for delivery to the US, Canada, UK, Europe and South Africa. The only exception is premium gallery wraps larger than 60x40 inches, as these require a custom freight quote due to their size. All other countries will have shipping calculated at checkout. For international shipping to countries other than the ones mentioned above, we do not recommend ordering a premium gallery wrap, as the shipping cost will be high. Rather order an unstretched canvas or unmounted fine art paper print, which will be shipped to you in a tube at a reasonable cost.

Q7. How do I choose the best size?

In general, the bigger the canvas, the more visual impact it will have. All our images are at least 10,000 pixels on the longest side and look beautiful in large format. But the best size depends on the viewing distance. The smaller sizes (30x20 inches and smaller) will work well in a hallway or small room where the viewing distance will always be close range (less than 3 ft / 90cm away). For a viewing distance of 3-6 ft (1-2 m) we recommend printing your canvas not smaller than 36x24" (90x60cm) for maximum visual impact. Our most popular size is 60x40" (1.5m x 1m) which is ideal for most rooms where the typical viewing distance will be 5-10 feet (1.5m - 3m from the artwork). For any viewing distance beyond 10 ft (3m) we recommend the larger 72x48" size. If you want your canvas larger than 72x48", please contact us for a custom quote.

Q8. How do I care for my canvas print?

Your premium quality fine art canvas is made from the finest quality materials and comes with a lifetime guarantee. If you look after it well, it will last for generations. Dust it off lightly and gently every week with a soft feather duster. In most cases there will be no need to wipe the canvas down, and definitely do not use any solvent or cleaning agent on your canvas. Do not touch or put any pressure on the canvas, else it might leave an imprint or start sagging and lose it's tautness. If you accidentally make a finger dent in the canvas, you can wet the back of the canvas in that spot with water, gently rub the water in so it soaks into the canvas, and let it dry. As it dries, the canvas will shrink somewhat and pull the dent tight again. More detailed instructions on how to care for your print can be found on our lifetime guarantee page.

Q9. What fine art papers can you print on?

We print on the finest quality Hahnemühle papers made from sustainable, eco-friendly and natural fibers such as bamboo or hemp. We normally print on Hahnemühle Bamboo or Torchon paper, both of which have a distinct, artistic texture, are acid-free, lignin free and contain no OBA's (optical brightening agents) for optimal print quality. However, we can print on a range of different fine art papers, with different levels of texture, as you prefer.

Q10. Can you offer any other printing or display options?

Yes, we can print on a wide selection of media upon request, including wood, glass, material, or metal / aluminum for a sleek, vibrant and long-lasting print. If you prefer to print on a medium other than premium quality canvas or fine art paper, please contact us for a custom quote.
